SUMMER SHRILLS… DRINKS TO KEEP YOU REJUVENATED

Summers are here. The scenario speaks off scorching heat, the burning sun, the sweating bodies taking almost all the calories and leaving us dehydrated.  In sweating our bodies lose out the essential moisture and minerals and as doctors and dieticians suggest eating fresh fruits and salads along with lots of water may help replenish the mineral loss and retain fluids.

Adding taste to the intake, Indian Desi drinks are something that relishes our taste buds and helps us stay hydrated and refreshed. Ideas from kitchens around may help you chill out. We tried talking to members of the Inner Wheel Club of South Glory as to what they are serving during this scenario so as to maintain the irrigate levels and immunity intact of their family

 

For all those who are fond of experimenting in the kitchen , CGR of the club Vandita Sharma shares, “There are numerous ways to prepare refreshing drinks and sharbat which are not only delicious but low in calories and full of nutrition. The traditional drinks I love to prepare for my family and guests also work on our skin and I call them the beauty enhancers.  I hope they are relished by you also.”

For all of you reading this we bring the following which is so simple to prepare with the least and common ingredients and yet very effective in keeping us cool and healthy adding a shine to the skin also.

WATERMELON MARTIN

Ingredients – Watermelon 1 kg, lime juice -2 -3 tsp, black salt- as per taste, soda water- 1 glass, 4-5 ice cubes

Method of preparation:  take watermelon and put the red stuff into the mixer to extract its juice. When this juice levels a glass, then take a jug and mix water lemon, lime juice, black salt, soda and ice in it properly.

The martin is ready to serve.

CHIRONGI SHAKE

Ingredients – 2 bananas, 2 teaspoon Mishri, 2 teaspoon chironji paste, ½ teaspoon cardamom powder, 2 cups chilled milk, 1 teaspoon almond paste, salt- a pinch, 1 cup crushed ice

Method of preparation:  Mix all ingredients and churn in a mixer. Then put ice in it. Shake well.

Garnish as per your choice. Serve.

BEL SHARBAT

Ingredients –200 g meshed bel, 2 tsp lime juice, and ¼ dalchini powder, some mint leaves, 2 tbs sugar, 2 glass water and crushed ice cubes.

Method of preparation:  take two glass of water. Put all yellow stuff of bel in it for ten min. then mesh it properly and sieve in a strainer. Now add lime juice, ice, sugar and black salt in it. Decorate with mint leaves and serve cool.

 

Gulab Jamun Delight

Ingredients –2 cups chilled curd, 2 cups mango and grapes 5 Pcs Gulab Jamun, 1 tbs honey, 1 tab mix fruit Jam, 2 tbs lime juice, 2 teaspoons chopped almond.

Method of preparation:  Mix jam in curd. Then put honey and lime juice in all chopped fruits and mix well. Pour the above mixture over the gulamjamuns.

Garnish with chopped almonds. Keep in freezer for 15 min. Serve.
