Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had lately reviewed the performance of the state tourism department and asked the concern authorities to take up measures for enhancement of tourism.

So, how would you react when I tell you that there’s a beach for you to visit in the northern part of India. Yes for all those who could not enjoy going to Goa and Mumbai, this unique beach situated amidst the wildlife and forests is a visual treat.

Chuka Beach is an hour’s drive from the popular town of Bareilly located in the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve area that lies between the Sharda Sagar Dam and Sharda Canal. It comes under the Mahof forest range and is protected and promoted by the state government as a tourist spot. As you enter the forest that is a home to big cats, foxes, jackals and other wildlife animals along with tigers, and after driving for around 2 kms, you can view this beautiful and serene beach.

Dr. H. Raja Mohan, Chief Director Pilibhit Tiger reserve shares, “Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath via video conferencing in the board meeting have given directions for improvement tourism in respective areas. We have already been taken adequate steps for the beautification of the beach. A retaining wall is already being constructed to stop the flow of flood water in the jungles of chuka. The plan of how to handle this tourism session has been sent to the headquarters and before November 15, the stage will be set.”

DM, Pulkit Khare says, “plans to promote ecotourism will soon be in structure, and accordingly the prime focus will be on the embellishment of the beach and stay of visitors in the villages adjacent to the forest area. The list of such villages have been made. Our target is to make maximum number of people know about the place and visit it.”

The place promises a treat to all fun and nature lovers. The beach has been provided with a bamboo hut, a tree house and 4 Tharu huts (ranging from INR 1000 – INR 4000) by the tourism department, where you can relax and enjoy the view. You may choose to indulge in boating on the paddle boats, again, provided by the tourism department. Apart from that, a canteen provides necessary refreshments for your day’s adventure. You could also book a safari to take a tour around the forest to explore the wildlife and if lucky, spot a tiger or two!

Your choice of accommodation while here can be booked online through the UP Eco Tourism website. However, any kind of visit to the Chuka Beach has to be pre-booked by visiting the Chuka Eco Tourism Centre which is located in Mustafabad, Pilibhit.
