Government is always for the support of the destitutes : CM Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said that his government is always for the support of the destitutes. He directed to provide foodgrains to all the needy and asked to ensure no person is left hungry in the state. The government has arranged to provide Rs. 1000 each for the destitutes to avail foodgrains, Rs. 2000 each as medical aid if some destitute falls ill and Rs. 5000 to the family for last rites of the destitutes, he said. 2 The Chief Minister, while presiding over a high-level Unlock review meeting at Lok Bhawan here, directed to maintain door step delivery system in the containment zones.

Effective police patrolling is the need of the hour to check crowd gathering and maintaining social distancing , he said while elaborating that the regular foot patrolling in the markets, intensive patrolling by PRV 112 on highways and expressways along with use of public address system to aware the people about corona prevention must take place. The Chief Minister said that all the migrant labourers/workers should be screened at the quarantine centres. Those who are found healthy should be sent to home quarantine along with 15-day ration kits. They should be given Rs. 1000 each as sustenance allowance during home quarantine and their ration cards to be prepared so that they may avail the food-grain. He asked the nodal officers deployed in the districts to assist the DMs to make regular inspections of quarantine centres and community kitchens ensuring cleanliness, security and other arrangements.

Directing the nodal officers of health department, deployed in various districts, to do regular inspection of Covid and Non-covid hospitals, the Chief Minister said that these officers are required to get direct feedback of the arrangements and send the factual report to the government. He asked the Health Minister to maintain communication with the Additional Director and the Joint Director level officers to apprise himself of all the health related works. On this occasion, the Chief Secretary told the Chief Minister that communication with all the Divisional Commissioners and DMs is being maintained to get feedback on all the arrangements including health related services. He also directed the Principal Secretary, Health to receive regular feedback from health nodal officers in various districts and review the works done by them. He said the proper emergency services should run in the hospitals. Efforts should be made to prevent personnel from Police, PAC, Fire Service and Railway Police from infection while the medical personnel should be trained about the preventive measures through training programmes.

Chief Minister observed that the activities of surveillance committees are helping in containing the infection in rural and urban areas. He asked the Principal Secretary, Rural Development and Urban Development to monitor the functioning of these committees on a regular basis. He said the surveillance committees may also be helpful in preventing the revenue-related disputes in the rural areas. He asked the DGP to 3 strengthen the village chowkidar system. He directed the DMs to ensure all arrangements, including that of medical screening of the passengers, at all the railway stations in the state. He pointed out that the medical screening will be successful only when the medical staff using infrared thermometer should know what temperature is normal and what denotes the fever. Similarly, the pulse oximeter user staff should be trained to ascertain when a particular person requires oxygen.

He asked to distribute handbills among the passengers to get them know about the prevention measures. The Additional Chief Secretary, Home and Information told the Chief Minister that handbills are being distributed as suggested by the latter. He said the CM’s suggestion was liked by the Railway Board and the handbills containing details of the corona prevention are being distributed in all the special trains of the country. The Chief Minister said that the food-grain distribution drive has started again from June 1, 2020. The DMs should ensure all the arrangements from godown to ration shops in the presence of administrative officer to prevent complaints with regards to weight and measure. He also directed to resume services of State Road Transport buses while following the prevention protocol entirely. He asked to keep active the wheat purchase centres and expedite the wheat purchase from the farmers. He said the commission to provide employment to migrant labourers/workers should be set up soon.
